Slab down & Frame Finished!

Work has been so busy that I havent had a chance to post an update here and the slab is done and frame finished and we have just started on lock up!

Here's some photo spam for the slab stage. Don't have too much to comment on this stage and it went off without a hitch! Our independent inspector is also a plumber so he checked that all the pipes were the right lenghts etc.

It's funny but standing on the slab, it really didnt feel that large! It felt much larger when the walls went up, which was surprising as I had thought being wide and open would feel larger.

The frame stage was much more eventful. First off we had a delay of about a month due to the timber shortage in Australia. It felt like a REALLY long time but credit to our SS that he gave us the heads up about the delay, and he called me as soon as he had a date for the delivery.

Once the frame got going, it happened pretty quickly. I think it was approx 3 weeks when both levels went up. It was really cool to be able to have a walk through and get a feel for the size of the rooms. The pantry is freaking huge and made me laugh. Tim is quite pleased.

When it was time to do our independent inspection, I finally got a chance to go upstairs. I could not believe how big the master bedroom was. It is over 7m long but until I saw it in person I really didnt appreciate the size. I dont know what we'll do with a 7m long master bedroom but I guess the space is better than paying about the same just for a piece of steel to go in as it wouldnt have measured up with the length of downstairs.

Each of the individual rooms are a very decent size too. with most being over 4m.

Kick to kick in the master?

View from one of the master bedroom windows. Yard goes allll the way to the trees outside the builders fence :)

We didnt find much wrong during the frame inspection, which was fantastic! And most of the items our SS had already marked pink as an item to be rectified.

Since then windows are mostly in, roof and solar panels up, downstairs wrapped, and today the pre-wiring for our home security/automation went in. Hebel is expected to go in next week!
